The Free-POSIX Common Desktop Project exists to create an open standard for free Desktop implementations.

The project is focused on two products:

The Commond Desktop Specification,

      and, created from it:

A reference implementation: CommonOS

In addition, the project maintains a variety of sub-projects effected to fascilitate a more convenient adoption of the Common Desktop Specification by OS developers.
